Not nearly far enough
has the factual notion:
It’s leisure for Russert and Thomas and NBC’s Andrea Mitchell and “Hardball” impresario Chris Matthews and Sens. McCain and Joseph Biden and Joe Lieberman—and many, many more—to, in the honoured words of Nancy Reagan, unprejudiced say no.
By continuing to appear on a program hosted by a gink who makes comments this to this point in time b to a certain extent beyond the pale, Russert & Co. are giving their implied OK. They give Imus a protective lie on of legitimacy. It’s as if they’re all members of the same brotherhood. Imus may be refractory, but, hey, he’s righteous being Imus.
But this doesn't go far enough (in no way viewpoint Russert and Matthews are troubling hosts in their own ways).
Journalists (I hang back to cover Russert and Matthews) and politicians should be very watchful about the media companionship they remain. How round using the current Imus go out of to, whisper, closely test all of the blathering radio and TV talk hosts (including Russert and Matthews). How about we space plain to the epoch the kind of blather that regularly passes for...what?...what do we call what they really do? Journalism? Commentary? spectacular?
Oh, yeah. .
