Bruning May Quit Senate Race in Nebraska
Citing "an informed source," the says that Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning (R) plans to withdraw from the Republican U.S. Senate race next week. Bruning faces former Gov. Mike Johanns in the GOP primary for the nomination to seek the seat being vacated by Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE).
An additional sign: Bruning recently changed his tone on the campaign trail and now praises Johanns.
However, Bruning’s campaign manager called the report “gossip and speculation" and noted, "We’re running hard. We’re prepared to go to the end. The rumor mill is overheated."
has a backgrounder on the Senate race which is Republican Favored.
